Çelebi Aviation Hungary successfully managed a significant increase in air traffic during the 2026 UEFA Champions League Final held in Budapest, supporting airlines and passengers throughout one of the busiest operational periods in the company’s history.
Between 28 and 31 May, our teams handled more than double the airport’s usual traffic volume, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable ground handling services despite the exceptional demand. The event brought a substantial increase in flights and passenger movements, requiring extensive planning, coordination and operational readiness.
Strong Collaboration for Seamless Operations
The successful management of this extraordinary traffic flow was made possible through close cooperation with key stakeholders, including the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Budapest Airport, HungaroControl, the Airport Police Directorate and our business partners.
The dedication and professionalism of our teams played a critical role in maintaining operational continuity and service quality throughout the event. Their efforts ensured that airlines and passengers experienced smooth and efficient operations during this major international sporting occasion.
We extend our sincere thanks to our airline partners, passengers and all colleagues who contributed to this achievement. This milestone once again demonstrates the strength of teamwork, collaboration and operational excellence that define Çelebi Aviation Hungary.
